Chapter 933 — Still an Uninvited Guest

The Blossom Guardian

"Ten million!" When the Medicine King made his move, it was rarely for less than ten million. Though the money was pure extortion from An Liwen, and the treatment did nothing to cure him at all, the Medicine King was a ruthless man — even when fleecing someone, he would never settle for cheap.

"That... fine!" An Liwen gritted his teeth. He was not especially wealthy; the bulk of his funds had long been handed over to the An family and the Fire Wolf Gang. This time, however, the Fire Wolf Gang had ordered him to set up an underground boxing ring, and had given him twenty million in seed money — and now, in one stroke, ten million was gone, which pained him deeply! But for the sake of a cure, he would rather rake in money like a madman later on; for now, this ten million had to be spent!

"Good, then I'll make the adjustments for you!" The Medicine King nodded, drew out his silver needles, and began solemnly jabbing them here and there into An Liwen's body. In truth, however, he was secretly using his true qi to seal off the meridians around An Liwen's dog kidney, so that the organ could only absorb nutrients and could no longer perform the normal functions of a kidney!

From then on, this kidney of An Liwen's would live inside him like a parasite. The Medicine King had no idea whether such a thing might produce some adverse aftereffects, but what did he care? It was cured now; if illness struck again later, that would be no concern of the Medicine King's. Who knew — when the disease flared up again, he might even collect another hefty consultation fee!

Half an hour later, the Medicine King finished, drenched in sweat. He wiped the perspiration from his brow and said weakly, "There! But I've expended too much true qi — I must rest a while first..."

After the Medicine King's exertions, An Liwen actually felt that his kidney no longer hurt at all; it seemed the treatment was truly effective! Overjoyed, he cried, "It's done just like that? Thank you, Medicine King, thank you! Wahaha, I'm finally a normal man with two kidneys!"

"Indeed — congratulations, Young Master Wen!" Zhao Qibing offered his congratulations too, smiling without a trace of warmth, while inwardly cursing the fool.

"Young Master Bing, once I'm back, I'll transfer the money to you. You won't doubt my credit, will you?" An Liwen had come in a hurry, with no cash on him, and had not activated his phone's transfer service.

"No matter — we're long-term partners, and I know your credit well enough!" Zhao Qibing waved a hand. "Just transfer it back to me when you return; you've never shorted me before!"

"No problem!" What An Liwen was thinking was that he would go home and test things out — see whether his kidney was truly cured. If it really no longer hurt and there was no more blood in his urine, then he would transfer the money to Zhao Qibing! Now that his kidney was fixed, he remembered what the Medicine King had said earlier about Wei Zhao, and asked with some curiosity, "Young Master Bing, what was that the Medicine King said about Wei Zhao? His true qi is gone?"

"You didn't know?" Zhao Qibing was taken aback. The news that Wei Zhao had lost all his martial arts was something he himself had spread; by rights, anyone with a grudge against Wei Zhao should have heard it. How was it that An Liwen did not know?

"These past days my kidney's been aching and I've been pissing blood — I hadn't the mind to pay attention to anything else, so I'm a bit out of the loop!" An Liwen said with a bitter smile.

"I see!" Young Master Bing nodded, and without hiding anything, recounted to An Liwen what had happened between Wei Zhao and the Gu family — even telling him how the Xiao family, himself, and the Yu family as well had all gone to Gu Pengzhan to demand money!

After all, none of this was any secret; An Liwen need only ask around a little once he got back to learn it all. Besides, Wei Zhao was An Liwen's enemy too, so telling him these things would give him some amusement — and ensure he transferred the consultation fee as soon as he got home.

"Oh? So you're saying Gu Pengzhan has been driven to a dead end?" An Liwen asked in surprise.

"Of course! This time the Gu family is finished!" Zhao Qibing laughed heartily. "Still, I never imagined the Yu family would come join the fun too — and take every last share of the Gu Group, and make Gu Mengyao go to the Yu household as a concubine! Tsk tsk, that lucky bastard of a Yu boy really got a bargain!"

As for the Yu family's involvement, Zhao Qibing did not find it at all improper. The real estate company was his, come what may; Yu family might be the foremost clan of the secular world, but they wouldn't dare deny him face. The Gu Group they had taken would also have its real estate company split off and handed to Zhao Qibing!

"Oh?" An Liwen frowned inwardly, though on the surface he said with great regret, "Ah, if only the Fire Wolf Gang had backed me, I'd have gone and grabbed a share too! But my case has just broken open — it's not a good time to be in the spotlight! I suppose there's no hope now..."

"Mm, but you have been unlucky — your whole hideout was wiped out by the police! Still, so long as you're all right, that's what matters. While there's life in the green hills, there's no fear of running out of firewood!" Zhao Qibing naturally had no idea that An Liwen had already begun scheming something else, and took him to be genuinely downcast.

"Never mind. I'll be off. I'll transfer the money once I'm back," An Liwen said, betraying nothing in his expression.

"Take care, Young Master Wen!" Zhao Qibing bade him farewell with feigned warmth.

An Liwen nodded, took his leave of Zhao Qibing, and departed the Geli Fuyun Bar — he had more important matters to attend to!

An Liwen was in fact no fool. The reason Zhong Yongliang had been able to pull one over on him was that he had assumed from the start that the kidney in his body must be his own, and so had never suspected anything else! In truth, this An Liwen was a rather sinister man.

"Medicine King, did you fix him up?" Once An Liwen had gone, Zhao Qibing could not resist asking.

"Not at all!" The Medicine King swiftly stripped off his coat. Just as last time, he had used his true qi to make himself drip with sweat for show. In fact, the true qi he had spent on An Liwen's body was less than what he had wasted working up a sweat for appearances' sake!

"Then you..." Zhao Qibing was taken aback for a moment, and asked.

"I merely rendered that dog kidney of his useless. I sealed off a few meridians, so from now on that dog kidney of his can do nothing except absorb nutrients like a parasite!" the Medicine King explained.

"Huh?" Hearing the Medicine King's explanation, Zhao Qibing was instantly delighted. "Too sinister, positively sinister to the core! Gahaha, but I love it!"

"Naturally. Following Young Master Bing, how could one get rich without being a little sinister?" the Medicine King flattered him. "Young Master Bing, I'm going to take a shower first — I can't take it anymore, I'm dying of heat!"

"Go on, go on. You really are my god of wealth! Hahaha!" Zhao Qibing laughed joyfully. Good fortune had truly come his way lately — Wei Zhao was finished, and his business was growing ever larger! Once Gu Pengzhan and Wei Zhao were thoroughly done for, this Songshan City would belong to none but Zhao Qibing!

After leaving the Geli Fuyun Bar, An Liwen drove straight to the Gu Corporation.

An Liwen was the fifth round of uninvited guests to arrive at the Gu Corporation today!

Before him had come Wei Zhizun, the Xiao family, Zhao Qibing's people, and the Yu family!
