Master Yu, would you see whether you might recommend us at the annual gathering of the five great houses and four minor houses — whether our Kang family might be elevated to great-house status?" Divine Doctor Kang watched Yu Haitian's expression and spoke, word by word.

He did not believe that Yu Haitian had come without making the appropriate inquiries beforehand. His terms were on the table now; whether it succeeded or not rested on the Yu family's attitude.
