Chapter 470 — Private Territory

The Blossom Guardian

"N-no problem!" Feng Xiaoxiao naturally would not care about a trifling fine like that.

Wei Zhao nodded, then said, "Sit tight and buckle up."

Feng Xiaoxiao had rather disapproved of Wei Zhao telling her to fasten her seatbelt inside the city, but the next moment she understood that she had been lucky to buckle up.

Feng Xiaoxiao had driven for so long and had never discovered that an Audi T could perform so well, which gave her the feeling that she had been wasting this car all along.

Within the city, Wei Zhao threaded through every gap and raced all the way, turning a blind eye to red lights, and even pretending not to see the police signaling him to stop.

"That's amazing!" Feng Xiaoxiao was thrilled. "How come I can't be that amazing? Even the police can't stop you!"

"I'm going to save someone. You're just bored and drag racing for kicks. The situations are different." Wei Zhao finished calmly, glanced at the rearview mirror, and saw that two police cars had actually fallen in behind them.

Wei Zhao was somewhat speechless, though on reflection his behavior just now had probably been no different from drag racing. It was only natural that it would draw the police.

"Wow, there are police cars chasing us from behind too. Wei Zhao, shake them off, quick!" Feng Xiaoxiao, however, felt not the slightest fear; she was even more excited. "I've only ever seen this kind of situation in those top-tier street-racing movies."

Wei Zhao rolled his eyes. He had long guessed that Feng Xiaoxiao's background was probably out of the ordinary. The fact that she could transfer from one high school to another made it clear how much power stood behind her. So her nonchalance about being chased by police cars was understandable.

But Wei Zhao had no wish to invite trouble. His first priority was to save someone, not to play cat and mouse with police cars. "What's your plate number?"

"Song A B..." What about it?" Feng Xiaoxiao asked reflexively.

"So that's it." Wei Zhao thought to himself that her plate was quite special. Feng Xiao, I love you? But it also indirectly proved that Feng Xiaoxiao's family truly was no simple matter, to be able to choose a plate like that. That was much harder to get than one ending in three 8s or three 6s.

Wei Zhao said no more, but took out his phone and dialed Qiu Lingshan's number.

Qiu Lingshan had not been home for several days now; she had stayed at the police station the whole time, organizing experts to analyze the remaining clues in the organ-trafficking case.

Seeing Wei Zhao's call, she assumed he had a new lead and hurriedly picked up.

"Brain-dead girl, my plate number is Song A B Tang. There are police cars chasing me from behind. Tell them to stop pursuing." Wei Zhao finished and, without waiting for Qiu Lingshan to speak, hung up.

"Huh?" Qiu Lingshan held the phone blankly, and then her face filled with anger. This Wei Zhao! He actually dared to order her around? The next time she saw him, she would beat his face black and blue!

Though Qiu Lingshan was displeased, she did not dare offend Wei Zhao either. Fuming, she dialed the police department's number and told them that Song A F Da Bi was carrying out official duties and that they should stop pursuing.

Sure enough, not long after Wei Zhao made the call, the police cars behind them vanished one after another, and when they passed the traffic control booths again, no police tried to stop them.

"Wei Zhao, you're incredible! One phone call and it's all settled?" Feng Xiaoxiao's eyes went wide with astonishment. She had connections too, but even she could not make every police officer in the city look the other way with a single phone call!

"I'm in a hurry to save someone," Wei Zhao said flatly. "Don't lump me in with rich girls like you."

"Hehe, whatever you say, you're still so handsome!" Feng Xiaoxiao waved her fist excitedly. "By the way, who is this brain-dead girl?"

"A friend of mine," Wei Zhao said.

"Then why do you call her brain-dead girl? Is she brain-dead?" Feng Xiaoxiao asked, puzzled.

"It's my pet name for her," Wei Zhao explained, somewhat helplessly. That name really was hard to explain to anyone else.

"Then give me a pet name too?" Feng Xiaoxiao figured that anyone Wei Zhao would give a pet name to must be very close to him—otherwise, why would a single phone call from him get the matter settled on the other end?

Wei Zhao was about to go mad. Was there ever anyone who actively asked others to give them a nickname? Wei Zhao ignored her and shut his mouth. He had realized that Feng Xiaoxiao was the type who, given a little sunshine, would shine bright, and given a little flood, would overflow. The more he said to her, the more fuss she made. This time Wei Zhao simply stopped talking.

Seeing that Wei Zhao was ignoring her, Feng Xiaoxiao looked out the window with a slightly aggrieved expression.

As they neared Dunmeng Street, Wei Zhao's phone buzzed twice—a text message had arrived.

"Boss, I couldn't wait any longer. I've gone in ahead. I'm afraid they might do something to Xiaofen!"

The message was from Kang **. Wei Zhao frowned. This Kang ** still hadn't been able to hold himself back—he had actually gone off alone to penetrate the tiger's den. Wasn't this just making trouble?

Still, Wei Zhao understood Kang **'s feelings. At a time like this, anyone whose beloved had been taken would find it impossible to hold back.

Wei Zhao called Kang **, and sure enough, the voice on the other end said the phone was switched off. It seemed Kang ** had already made up his mind.

Near No. 7 Dumeng Street there was only one compound that resembled a factory. After Wei Zhao drove closer, he found no other buildings. This place was already on the outskirts of the city; apart from wasteland, one had to go a long way before seeing another structure.

"Who goes there!" Wei Zhao's car had barely pulled up to the gate of the compound when two burly men came out from inside and blocked his way.

"Just tourists," Wei Zhao said, putting on a slightly frightened look, while inwardly he was calculating. Security here was tight—by any measure, this didn't look like something Kang Jingming could have set up.

If Kang Jingming only wanted to catch Xiaofen for revenge or to vent his anger, it would have been impossible for him to conjure up such a tightly guarded, heavily secured place on short notice. Could it be a different group of people?

What puzzled Wei Zhao was this: what did these people want with Xiaofen? Xiaofen shouldn't have offended anyone.

"This is private property. Don't dawdle around here—get lost!" The burly man glanced at Wei Zhao's car, saw that it was a sports car with a man and a woman sitting in it, and took them at face value as a couple out for a drive. So he paid them no mind, waving impatiently to signal that they could scram.

"Oh... right, sorry about that!" Wei Zhao started the car, seemingly preparing to back up, then suddenly slammed his foot on the accelerator and rammed straight into the two burly men.

"Bang—bang—" Two loud crashes, and the two men were sent flying, landing on the ground with blood pouring from their mouths, unconscious.

"Ah!" Feng Xiaoxiao let out a shriek, stunned. She might play wild in her daily life, often extorting and roughing people up, and she even dared to stab people with a knife—but watching Wei Zhao ram people with a car without a word left her so shocked she couldn't speak.
