Chapter 249 — Something Wrong with Your Brain? When Sun Jingyan Arrived, Wei Zhao Had Already Been Waiting for Over Ten Minutes.

The Blossom Guardian

"I thought you weren't coming. I was about to head home." Wei Zhao lazily pulled open the car door and got in.

"Traffic was terrible — it's rush hour," Sun Jingyan said with a hint of apology. "Little husband, shall we grab something to eat first?"

"Who's your husband?" Wei Zhao frowned. "Something wrong with your brain? Don't go calling me that. Did I ever agree to it?"

Why was this girl so clingy? If Gu Mengyao heard it, it would be nothing — she'd just blow up once and be done with it. But if Tang Zhi heard it, she'd start thinking something was actually going on!

What was really unfair was that it would be one thing if he and Sun Jingyan had actually done something — Wei Zhao had never been one to shy from trouble. The key problem was that absolutely nothing had happened. If he had to carry the title of Sun Jingyan's husband, wouldn't that be a grievance? And on top of that, he'd have to go clean up her *** mess for her.

"I'm your lover now — how can you deny it?" Sun Jingyan giggled. "You said it yourself. A gentleman's word is his bond."

Wei Zhao shut his mouth. He had indeed said that, which was why he had honorably come to help Sun Jingyan sort out her troubles. But keeping his word was one thing; a few grumbles were only natural.

"I'll honor it. But don't call me husband anymore — it gives me the creeps. Nothing good ever comes of you calling me that." Wei Zhao shrugged.

"Fine then. Next time something good comes along, I'll call you that." Sun Jingyan seized the opening and climbed right up.

"Suit yourself." Wei Zhao really couldn't be bothered to argue. To be honest, Sun Jingyan was genuinely beautiful, and if she weren't so much trouble, he'd have been happy to flirt with her a little. But she really was trouble. "Forget the food. Where are we stealing the data from? Let's get this over with, quick and clean."

"Going now... might be a bit of a problem." Sun Jingyan glanced at the time on the dashboard. "According to the people I sent to watch him, Zhang Tongtian of Tongtian Qi Trading Company has brought his *** back to his residence. They're probably going at it hot and heavy right now — it won't be easy for you to make your move. I thought we'd wait a while until they're both asleep, then you go up and do it."

"No problem." Wei Zhao said indifferently. "I'm the one stealing, not you. Just get it done fast — I've got things to do tonight."

"All right." Since Wei Zhao had said so, Sun Jingyan naturally said no more. She started the car and drove toward Zhang Tongtian's residence.

It had to be said, the name Zhang Tongtian had real force to it — as if he had connections to the heavens themselves.

Zhang Tongtian lived in an upscale villa complex, every house a *** little villa of its own. It was clear that Zhang Tongtian's company made good money. Trading was the kind of business that always required connections — without the right network, you couldn't even get off the ground.

When Sun Jingyan drove into the complex, the security guard barely checked anything before waving her through. A red Audi A4L — not an especially luxurious car, but a favorite of many young women, and there were plenty of them in the complex.

She parked near a three-story villa and pointed at it. "That's the place. The recording is saved on a silver DV. Look for it — it should be in the briefcase he carries with him. He's careful with things like that; he won't hand it over to anyone else to keep."

Wei Zhao nodded and got out of the car. "Wait for me here."

"How are you going to get in..." Sun Jingyan was just about to ask how Wei Zhao planned to get past the villa's walls when she saw he had already nimbly vaulted over them and into the compound...

Could he really be some kind of master thief? Sun Jingyan blinked. This man astonished her more and more. Not only were his hands skilled, his physical ability was extraordinary too. How had someone like that ended up in Songshan City?

Sun Jingyan was still guessing how Wei Zhao would get inside when she saw him climbing the villa's wall like Spider-Man, entering through an open window on the second floor.

Sun Jingyan could hardly believe it. He was in? Just like that?

In truth, this was all child's play to Wei Zhao. Black Panther could leap straight up to a second floor, and so could Wei Zhao. He simply didn't want to reveal too much of his ability in front of Sun Jingyan, so he chose to climb — that way, anyone with decent agility could have done the same.

This was the second-floor living room. The lights were on, but there was no one there. From a nearby room to the left, its door half open, came the unmistakable sounds of a man and woman ***.

Wei Zhao paid them no mind for the moment and began searching for the DV camera Sun Jingyan had mentioned. But he didn't rummage around at random — instead, he stood in the living room and looked carefully around him.

It was probably because Zhang Tongtian had been in such a hurry to get home and wrap himself around *** that his clothes and handbag had been flung carelessly onto the sofa in a corner of the living room. Perhaps it never even crossed his mind that someone might crawl into the living room at this hour. It was only a little past seven in the evening — hardly the time for burglars to be prowling about.

Wei Zhao barely had to rummage before he fished a small silver DV out of the handbag on the sofa. One glance told him it was a high-definition model. Muting the speaker, he opened the playback screen.

Sure enough, the footage showed a coffee shop, where one man was handing a bank card to another while saying something, and the picture was remarkably clear — the camera must have been at a nearby table, yet it had drawn no attention from either of the two men.

Presumably neither of them had imagined that a transaction they had carried out so many times would end up being recorded.

Wei Zhao shut off the DV, casually pulled out the memory card, and slipped it into his pocket. He was just about to put the DV back in the handbag and leave when he abruptly discovered that there was actually a spare memory card in the bag as well!

Could there be a backup too? Wei Zhao inserted the spare memory card into the DV, only to find that he had overestimated Zhang Tongtian's intelligence — the card was blank, with nothing on it at all.

It must have been the one the seller had thrown in when the DV was purchased; Zhang Tongtian hadn't thought much of it and had simply tossed it into the bag. But now that there was a blank card in his hands, the mischievous streak in Wei Zhao's heart stirred again...

DV in hand, Wei Zhao went to the door of Zhang Tongtian's room and aimed it inside, filming for a while. He could not bring himself to compliment Zhang Tongtian's physique, though the man's lover was not bad at all — only women of that sort held no interest for Wei Zhao.

After recording a segment of video of Zhang Tongtian, Wei Zhao put the DV back into the handbag exactly as he had found it, then vanished straight through the second-floor window...

"Done already? That fast?" Sun Jingyan had not expected Wei Zhao to come out so quickly, and she was rather surprised.

Wei Zhao gave a wry smile. A task with so little challenge to it, and this was already slow enough! If he hadn't had nothing better to do and spent a while filming Zhang Tongtian with the DV, he would have been out long ago.

"Here." Wei Zhao took the memory card from his pocket and handed it to Sun Jingyan. "I played around with his DV for a bit too — cute little thing, actually. I think I'll buy one myself one of these days."
