Gao Yang thought it over, swiftly deleting from his mind a whole pile of rather unimportant "minor problems," before shaking his head with a smile. "She was very obedient this time. She's grown quite a bit."
Hedy breathed an immediate sigh of relief. "That's good to hear."
She then gave Gao Yang a brief report on the recent state of the Supreme Administrative Hall and asked a few questions about the events of the conference, after which the conversation gradually drifted toward lighter, everyday matters. A few exchanges of idle talk later, a peculiar expression suddenly came over her face. "By the way, Ancestor, there is something... I feel I ought to mention to you."
"It's rare to see you wear that kind of look," Gao Yang said, his curiosity piqued. "What is it?"
"I only heard about it this morning, and I haven't had the chance to confirm it yet." Hedy instinctively glanced around, then leaned in close to Gao Yang with that peculiar look and lowered her voice. "I've heard... Betty has been acting strange these past few days."
"Betty? Acting strange?" Of all the things Gao Yang might have expected to hear, this was the last. "That child has always been rather well-behaved, hasn't she... What has she done?"
"Word is she's been watering that egg..."
"Egg? What egg?"
"The egg the dragon clan sent."
"?!"
(I have to go to Haikou for a meeting these next few days, so updates may be irregular. I'll try my best to keep them coming!!)
