Chapter 300 — High School Classmates
Years of Heartflutter Page 3 of 3
"Kindred spirits at first sight." Yu Tianzhu was nearly clapped into internal bleeding. He wanted to return the favor and clap Yang Ce back, but his hand had been squeezed so hard it felt ready to burst—how could he lift it to clap anyone?
"You two were looking for a drink, weren't you?" Yang Ce glanced at the Haike Inn and asked Yu Tianzhu and Qian Tangjiang.
Others might not understand Yu Tianzhu, but Qian Tangjiang did. He knew all about Yu Tianzhu's opening-move tactics and knew the man had just taken a heavy loss; inwardly he was furious with Yang Ce. Hearing Yang Cenbin ask this, he thought Yang Ce meant to have a drink with them—then, once they were seated together, he could drop a hint to the Haike's proprietress to slip Yang Ce some laxative or the like. There was no way they wouldn't do the man in!
At this thought, Qian Tangjiang said quickly, "Indeed! Since Brother Yang and Tianzhu are so taken with each other, then let's have something to drink—my treat!"
"No need. We just finished," Yang Linyue said mildly.
Qian Tangjiang had assumed Yang Ce would agree, and this reply caught him off guard; he was instantly annoyed, yet there was truly nothing he could do but swallow it. "All right then, next time. You go on and enjoy yourselves—if you run into any trouble, call me anytime, and I can take care of it for you."
With that, Qian Tangjiang took out his business cards and handed one each to Sun Jie, Yang Xin, Wu Yunsheng, and Yan. Yang Ce took his and looked: it read Manager of Business Development, East Sea Carnival Amusement Park.
So he's somebody after all—no wonder he's so cocky. Yang Linyue smiled faintly and casually tucked the card into his pocket.
Since it had come to this, Qian Tangjiang and Yu Tianzhu naturally could not press Sun Jie and Yang Xin to stay. They watched sullenly as the group walked out of the Haike Inn; the two of them could only take out their anger on the Haike's proprietress, barking orders left and right, ordering a few drinks, and sitting down to grumble.
"You took a loss back there?" Qian Tangjiang asked, looking at Yu Tianzhu, whose hand was still trembling.
"That kid's a tough one—got a hell of a grip. I couldn't take him." Yu Tianzhu held nothing back from Qian Tangjiang and spoke with great frustration.
"Damn it, we can't just let this go." Qian Tangjiang slammed the table in anger.
"That's right, we can't let them off easy." Yu Tianzhu echoed him.
In truth, venting their anger on Heng and Wu Yunsheng was only secondary—a mere pretext. Their real targets were still Sun Jie and Yang Xin.
Though their status had risen over the past few years and they had money now, and had played with plenty of women, first love always rankled—and what one has never obtained, one wants all the more.
So the two of them yearned for Sun Jie and Yang Xin more and more intensely, especially after seeing them today and finding them even more beautiful and alluring. Qian Tangjiang and Yu Tianzhu could no longer sit still; they wanted to take Sun Jie and Yang Xin from Yang Ce and Wu Yunsheng.
