Chapter 294 — A Painful Choice

Years of Heartflutter Page 3 of 3

"At the very least, several thousand times," Yang Ce added.

"Wha—?" This time Tian Long was truly dumbstruck, unable to tell whether Yang Ce was boasting or had genuinely reached such heights.

"To be honest, Tian Long, you were simply too impatient," Yang Ce sighed. "Still, though your idea and mine come to the same end—both of us wanting Donghua to manage the business here—since things have already come to this, you can't blame me for not being gentle."

Hearing Yang Juehuan's words, Tian Long seemed to finally understand. Perhaps Yang Ce really had reached a height he could never attain—and precisely because of that, Yang Ce had been able to buy off the people around him and bring matters to pass.

There was, after all, a gulf between himself and Yan.

"If you truly can keep your word, then I can die without regret." Tian Long let out a long breath. He had not expected Yang Juehuan's thinking to be like this. Whether it was true or false he could not tell, but since Yang Ce had said it, it was possible—and it counted as some comfort before his death.

"What I have said, I will honour. Of course, only toward friends." Yang Ce glanced at Tian Yan. "I don't have many friends. At school, the ones I could truly call kindred spirits were Zhang Bin and Tian Yan. So my promise to him will be honoured."

Tian Long nodded, then said, "Good. If it truly is so, then I thank you!"

"If you two, father and son, have anything to say, say it quickly. I'll go out first and leave you some privacy." With that, Yang Yanzhou turned and left the room without waiting for either Tian Long or Tian Yan to reply.
