Chapter 276 — Arranging to Meet Xia Xue

Years of Heartflutter Page 2 of 2

That was exactly what Yang Shuoxuan had in mind. Once he had investigated the people around Tian Long, he would put his plan into action at once; having Xia Xue along would only make things inconvenient for him.

"Fine, we'll drive there. I'll hand the car over to you when the time comes—you just drive it back." Yang Yanzhou said.

"Then how will you get back?" Xia Xue asked.

"I have my ways." Yang Lanxu said. Once Tian Long was dealt with and the Sun family held power again, there would be no shortage of cars to drive. So there was no need to worry about how he would get back.

"Then I won't worry about you. Anyway, if you end up without a car, just borrow one from the Donghai Police Department." Xia Xue said. "It's still early—where shall we go?"

"Somewhere to eat, of course." Yang Ce said. "I know a dim sum shop that sells fried cakes. The owners moved there from the old shantytown, and the taste is the real thing. I knew you liked them, so I kept an eye out. I'll take you there now."

"Ah..." Xia Xue felt a sudden warmth in her heart. She had not expected Yang Cenbin to still remember her tastes after so long. She had grown up and left home to study on her own at a very young age—it had truly been a long time since anyone had cared for her like this.

"You don't want to eat?" Yang Ce asked, a little puzzled to see Xia Xue staring blankly.

"No, it's not that..." Xia Xue shook her head vigorously, then said, "Yang Ce, thank you!"

"Thank me for what?" Yang Ce was somewhat baffled by Xia Xue's sudden reaction.

"Nothing..." Xia Xue broke into a smile and pursed her lips. "Are we going now? Then let's go."

"Of course we're going now. Didn't I say I was treating you?" Yang Ce said. "Or do you plan to let me off as your long-term meal ticket?"

Xia Xue's face flushed instantly. When she had said that before, she had not thought much of it, but afterward, on reflection, she realized it had sounded wrong. Now that Yang Ce brought it up, she could not help feeling embarrassed. She bared her teeth and said, "In your dreams. You're so rich—I'm going to rob the rich to help the poor!"

"I'm afraid you'll find me far from poor." Yang Ce shrugged.

Xia Xue was only joking, of course. She knew Yang Ce was very wealthy now—how much could breakfast possibly cost?

"By the way, how did you know this shop sells fried cakes?" Xia Xue asked, curious. This kind of old-fashioned food was something many young people did not care for, so most breakfast shops did not sell it. And the breakfast shops in Songjiang were increasingly leaning toward the fashionable and trendy—Hong Kong and Taiwan snacks and the like.

"This breakfast shop is the same one we ate at in the shantytown—they've opened a proper storefront now." Yang Yanzhou said. "The shantytown was relocated, wasn't it? They used the relocation compensation to take over a shop space and now they're making old-fashioned breakfasts. Business is quite good!"
