Zhou Yanning's face went red at once. She had indeed said something of the kind just now—but that had been meant only for her father's ears. She had never expected Chen Shutang and Lin Yanhe to overhear it too.

"All right, I'll stop teasing you. You must have so much to say to your parents tonight. Lin-mei and I will go to the kitchen and fix us something to eat—we'll give you some time to yourself!" With that, Chen Shutang took Lin Yanhe by the hand and headed for the kitchen.
